Currently OTL lease property through one year, three year, and five year agreements with the right of first refusal. It is our intention to meet your needs on the length of the lease. We feel that most hunting groups are working towards a three to five year plan on their deer management, so signing a longer term lease is not discouraged.

3. Why lease property in Ohio?
Ohio had been one of the best kept secrets in the whitetail hunting world. Maybe not so much today. With titles like “Beatty Buck”, “Hole in the Horn Buck”, The Amish Buck”, and “Jerman Buck”, Ohio has quickly gained the attention of the hunting community. What we have always considered a huge advantage is the fact that Ohio remains an over-the-counter license state. For $154.00, a non-resident hunter has the ability to harvest the same quality of buck many other mid-western states require you to draw your tag. In our region, you can also purchase up to three non-antlered tags in archery season for $15.00 each. In shotgun season, you can purchase two more $24.00 tags. You can harvest only one antlered deer per season. Whitetail season opens each year around the end of September and continues until the first of February. For the archery hunters, your season continues all the way through the rut. Shotgun season opens the Monday after Thanksgiving and continues for seven days. There is also a two day extended shotgun season. The use of in-line muzzle-loaders with scopes is also permitted during shotgun season. There is a four day muzzle-loader season in late December. For those with younger hunters, Ohio has an early season youth gun hunt. This is a great opportunity for our next generation of hunters to chase their dream Buck during “the rut”. To add to it all, Ohio ranks #4 all time in Pope and Young entries. Sold yet!

Yes, this is required and proof of insurance must be provided to Ohio Trophy Leases, LLC by August 15th of each year of the lease. You may provide your own insurance or we can provide that for you at an additional cost. The landowner is required to be “as an additional interest insured” on the policy. We have found that most “hunt club” insurance is inexpensive and the benefits far out way the risks.

6. What is the process to inspect the property before making a decision on a lease?
First, view our available leases, make a list of properties that best fits your style of hunting. Contact Ohio Trophy Leases, LLC, and we will make an appointment to meet you and introduce you to the landowners and their properties. We have collected as much information as possible for each lease. If you are traveling a longer distance, we can help with information on local accommodations in our areas.

7. How many hunters can be on a lease?
Each lease will be limited to a certain number of hunters based on the criteria of the size and requirement of the landowner. Our leases are exclusive to the group leasing the property. We require that each of our landowners do not give anyone outside the Lessee’s permission to hunt. If a landowner would require family members have hunting privileges, OTL would not be a fit to lease that property. Ohio Trophy Leases, LLC understands exclusivity!
